Riverwalk Park
Port Orange, Florida
From Planning to Playing
2017 FPZA Sustainability Award
For this project, DMC developed, designed, permitted, and provided bidding and construction management assistance. Additionally, DMC conducted an environmental resource survey of the complete property to better guide the location of the many improvements associated with park development. DMC also coordinated with the public and multiple stakeholders to develop a conceptual plan that helped revitalize the local waterfront district. This park has surpassed both community and city expectations.
Bethune Point Park
Daytona Beach, Florida
Worry-Free Sustainable Design
This project involved the surveying, engineering and designing for the reconstruction of the existing pier, along with ADA-access mitigation provision, the survey of the pilings and corners of the floating dock, the design of the concrete piles and encasing of the wooden piles and the addition of a concrete floating system to a fixed wooden dock system.
Sunrise Park
Holly Hill, Florida
Access to Land and Water Recreation
For this project, DMC helped with the design and permits for a new boat launch ramp with tending docks, a new paved parking area with 28 trailer spaces, a canoe/kayak launching platform and a stormwater management system. DMC also helped to obtain the necessary permits for the maintenance dredging of the access channel to the Intracoastal Waterway.
Tavares Seaplane Marina, Tavares, FL
For this project, DMC’s work included providing options for the City’s 84-slip marina, which consists of boat and seaplane mooring and fueling facilities. In addition, services included the design of a new boat and seaplane ramp. DMC performed structural calculations for fixed and floating docks, considering gale force winds with a facility full of boats and seaplanes and meet Category 2 hurricane winds with no boats or seaplanes in place.
Taylor Creek Restoration, Taylor Creek, FL
For this 6-year project, DMC managed a 95,000 Cubic Yards “Muck” removal to Protect the Indian River Lagoon, shoreline stabilization with rock revetment, permitting with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE), existing right of way preservation, Mangrove, Manatee and Sea Grass protection, funding grant assistance and hurricane impact assessment.
